Boundary Mountain is an escapist playground for wealthy tourists and extreme sports enthusiasts, but to the Carver family, it's home. The Mountain chronicles the larger-than-life saga of the Carvers, whose colorful patriarch, David Carver, Sr. (guest star Chad Everett, Mulholland Drive, Medical Center), founded the town and its internationally famous ski resort after winning the land in a poker game. When this legendary man unexpectedly dies, his choice of an heir sends shockwaves throughout the community.
Free-spirited David Carver, Jr. (Oliver Hudson, Dawson's Creek) left home years ago to pursue his dream of becoming a world-class motocross racer, while his older brother Will (Anson Mount, Tully, Crossroads), diligently attended business school with every expectation of taking over the family empire. No one, least of all the brothers themselves, expected David to inherit Boundary Mountain. David finds himself saddled with a responsibility he never wanted and a brother who rightly feels betrayed. On top of this, he is torn between two women and suddenly immersed in a power struggle with a neighboring family. David just wants to run, until he realizes his grandfather may have had bigger things in mind. Part of the complicated history that both connects and separates the brothers Carver is Maria Serrano (Alana De La Garza, All My Children). Once David's partner in teenage rebellion and now Will's girlfriend, she is the half Irish/half Mexican daughter of one of Boundary's first employees. As Boundary's director of special events, Maria spends her days with both the hard-working locals and the wealthy jet setters who flock to the resort.
Through the episodes to come, David will begin to reconnect with his mother Gennie (Barbara Hershey, Hannah and Her Sisters, Beaches) and teenage sister Shelly (newcomer Tara Thompson). With the death of her all-powerful father, Gennie may finally allow herself to emerge from 15 years of self-imposed emotional exile. The secrets Gennie carries about her father, her husband, even her own children, will eventually come back to haunt them all. Just like her older brothers, Shelly lives to compete. A champion snowboarder, she appears destined to become the world champion athlete her mother was. A sweet and natural flirt, Shelly is oblivious to the fact that her best friend Sam Tunney (Penn Badgley, Do Over) carries a torch for her.
As they work on their new personal and professional relationship, David and Will also have to deal with the ambitious Colin Dowling (Mitch Pileggi, The X-Files), who has built a real estate empire to rival Donald Trump's. The jewel that has always eluded Colin is Boundary Mountain. Now that the Carver patriarch is gone, Colin feels his opportunity has come, and he will use everything and everyone he can, including his own children, to swallow The Mountain whole.
Colin's daughter Max (Elizabeth Bogush, Titans) is a graduate of Harvard Business School, bright and merciless on the surface, with a deep need to win her father's approval. When Max's parents divorced, her mother got custody, and Max was torn away from her father and brother. Of the two Dowling kids, Max thinks of herself as "the tough one," ready to take whatever life or her father can dish out. However, it is her brother Michael (newcomer Tommy Dewey) who is being groomed by his dad to take over the Dowling empire. Michael is being trained as a corporate shark, and so far, he hasn't been very good at it. Growing up under his father's watchful eye has not been easy, and Michael envies Max as much as she envies him. На BAPS АланаСью вывесила первые спойлеры по "Горе". У нее есть сайдзы на сцену из третьего акта, она дает краткий пересказ
Персонаж ДМ, Тед - завязавший алкоголик. Он цитирует Шекспира и Ницше. У него есть сын Сэм. Он вложил деньги Сэма, отложенные на его учебу в колледже, на обустройство домашнего пивоваренного завода. Сэм вроде бы не возражает. Затем Тед осознает, что на изготовление пива уходит полгода. Он снова начинает пить (??falls off the wagon), достает пиво из холодильника, Сэм расстроен развитием событий и убегает из дома. Конец третьего акта.
Это единственная сцена, которая была выдана в актерское агентство для проведения проб. Больше, наверное, ничего не будет.

Tallgent I thought he did better as the show went along. But he seemed to just be a more Americanized Spike. I thought the microbrew was a stupid idea for the show. And the quoting, as much as I appreciated the passion James was putting into the words, seemed kind of overdone and unrealistic.
But he showed real pathos and I loved his realization when he first discovers his son's talent. If he had noticed it before he wouldn't have thrown away Sam's chances to go to art shcool. He makes me believe that he'll find a way to make it up to him somehow. But it's getting through everyday one step at a time. Gotta think big sometimes, but take it step by step. It doesn't come all at once.
Nice to see that he took a role where he didn't fall back on his good looks. For once in a sex-scene-a-minute show we get someone who expresses true honest and healthy affection toward his son's friends and "maybe" girlfriend. I liked Ted. And that says a lot about James's talent where I don't see a ne'er-do-well in a contemptuous light. I see someone I want to root for if only for his misguided passions--and maybe even relate to on some level. I think we've all been there and I'm thankful to James for making it cathartic and exorcising those demons of "what-could-have-been."
Spikeylover Re: the MOUNTAIN EPISODE: I didn't know what was really going on or who the characters were. The dialogue was crap, and what do you do with that? The show is all over the place. James was playing Ted like someone that's almost Manic when he is on a high, which is probably the best way to interpret that character.
I have to say, even though having this dad in real life would drive me to drink myself, James REALLY got me at the end when he started tearing up. Then I loved Ted and not only felt for his child, but him too. James did that "Make you love him even when he's bad and annoying" thing again.
James had five scenes in the episode. For short scenes, each one managed to pack in a lot of different emotions.
The first scene is the set up, explaining his plan. We get a feel for his character and lovable fool describes it very well. He's chipper about his newest scheme and only stumbles slightly when confessing he's used his son's college fund as his bankroll. He has affectionate nicknames for everyone. James gives a lovely performance in a few lines, making you like this man and hope for success for him, even though already, you're somewhat leery of his big plan. There's a hug for Shelley. You get the impression Ted is an affection man when he's sober and welling meaning. The scene ends with him asking Sam if he wants to be a partner in Tunney & Son.
The second scene is very short. Ted & Sam are setting up the equipment. Shelley and a friend show up. Ted is happy and giggling. This is the High Five scene. When Sam shrugs it off, Ted turns to the other boy and they high five.
Scene three is even shorter. They stack hands like football players do and give a cheer for Tunney & Son. James is so good in conveying delight with a quirk of and eyebrow, a twist of his mouth. You can sense how excited Ted is at what he thinks are their prospects to become millionaires.
Scene four is an emotional one. Ted discovers the beer will take 3 to 4 months to brew. James especially shines here. So many emotions flash across his face, shock, disbelief, denial, anger, despair.
Scene five is the final one. Ted wakes up on the couch obviously after a night of drinking. He is a little stiff needing Sam's help to sit up. Tears well in his eyes as he and Sam talk about what's happened. In the end they hug each other tightly, Ted cupping the back of Sam's head as they embrace with great warmth.
James did an incredible job with the few short pages of script he had to work with. It was tantalizing, frustrating and fantastic to have him back on our TV screens again but with so few moments of him in an otherwise hour of dreck. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sama znavala podbnyh kadrov v kolichestve, prevyshajushhem odnu shtuku i ot igry Marstersa pryam zanostalgirovala po starym dobry vremenam. Hotela napisat pobolshe, no kak-to i skazat bolshe nechego. Videli spor na slayerverse po povodu rejtingov? Tak tam narod voobshe na lichnosti pereshel, i, Gospodi, hot by bylo iz-za chego. Iz za gostevoj roli v seriale, o kotorom ne bud tam Marstersa my by nikogda i ne uznali. Prezhde chem delat vyvody po povodu igry Marstersa ya by vse-taki predpochla snachala posmotret film, v sosednem trende, gde emu est po-krajnej mere, chto igrat. V "Mountain" zhe... da, na moj vzglyad sygral on horosho, no chem-to mne vse eto napomnilo pryzhki po chetko razlinovannoj tablichke na asfalte. Sorry, prosto kak nachitalas zapadnyh obsuzhdenij, do sih por kak zavarochny chajnik: kiplju i bulkaju.

Ага, я вчера читать пыталась, бросила где-то на 10 посте - итак нервничаю из-за ситуации в стравне, а тут действительно, было бы из-за чего. На МТС потом читала, что не все так плохо, кстати, у них там интересные рассуждения на тему попадаются, сама я не видела, сказать ничего не могу, но все же почитать иногда интересно )

Они как только положили клипы - так за сутки превысили месячный траффик. Но я УСПЕЛА СКАЧАТЬ 41 мб-версию. И скачала весь эпизод 349 мб ави. Так что, Новичок, скоро, надеюсь, свидимся, и (как говорили в незапамятные времена, когда я работала в магазине) "все будешь иметь".
Ну что я могу сказать по поводу... В двух словах: шоу - отвратительное, ДМ все равно хорош. Ему хоть телефонную книгу дай - он хорошо сыграет. Причем он лучше всего играет, когда молчит. Потому что диалоги там... ладно, проехали.
В качестве временного утешения предлагаю посмотреть и почитать "версию Tubby". Эта великая хулиганка сделала "историю в картинках" по мотивам капсов из "Горы". Грузятся странички долго, но они того стоят. Я их сохранила на диске и буду перечитывать как самый издевательный фик по мотивам Джоссверса...
