Mountain Dew?
Put On Your Party Hats for Angel's Birthday Bash and a Cool Yule Reality-TV Shindig
by Kristin | December 12, 2003 (The artist formerly known as Wanda) Throw a bunch of actors, producers, network executives, crew members and reporters into the same room, and you normally get chaos. Hair-pulling, name-calling, "you'll never work in this town again" chaos.
But when I visited the set of Angel last week for the show's 100th-episode celebration, I was met with a blissful, Zenlike calm.
Pact with the devil? Perhaps. More likely, however, these Angel-ic peeps are professionals who've somehow managed to keep their egos in check even though they work on the show we bow down to worship every Wednesday night. Weird, huh?
Now, faithful tubers, zee plahn was to save all the lengthy interviews and video clips for the mother of all Angel features, to be unveiled around the Feb. 4 airdate of the ep--but since things went so well, I can't help but give a little scoopity-poop now to wet your whistle. (Mmmm...poopy whistle.)
The 100th episode celebration included, of course, a big cake and lots of singsongy praises. In addition to all the current series regulars, Christian Kane (Lindsey), Mercedes McNab (Harmony) and Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia)--with adorable baby in tow--were along for the festivities.
David Boreanaz, whose son is a real angel (couldn't be more adorable), hinted that there might be some Buffy guest stars in the works. "I know having James Marsters over now has been great for us," he said. "And I'm sure there'll be some other people popping in." Who? "You'll have to wait and see."
Personally, I'd rather try to get it out of Angel boss Joss Whedon (hey, stranger things have happened). "Alyson Hannigan obviously was on the show last year, and that was a lot of fun," Whedon said. "We just love having her, and Willow is somebody I'd love to see again on the show. Buffy, you know, that's sort of up to her [Sarah Michelle Gellar]. If she's interested in doing an episode, obviously we'd always make room. There's two guys on the cast who are in love with her, so it's not like she doesn't have anything to play, but it's really her call."
Those kind words about Alyson should make Alexis Denisof (Wesley) an even happier man, if that's possible. The boy was still beaming six weeks after his wedding to the girl he calls "the love of my life."
"I think what this show really needs is a redhead," he said. "For me, it's becoming personally offensive that we aren't representing that group. There's only one redhead in Hollywood, so naturally they should hire my wife. I just can't believe there hasn't been an organized movement."
Meanwhile, Christian, you'll be happy to know, is ready, willing and (fingers crossed) able to stick around. "I'll stay on this show as long as Joss wants me to," Christian told me. "I'm best friends with David, and I love my character now. Instead of coming back and putting on a suit and walking back into that skin, it's a totally different person."
Charisma, on the other hand, seemed legitimately grateful to be a part of the 100th brouhaha, but in general, ready to move on. That might have something to do with the fact that her relationship with producers appeared slightly strained--during Joss' introductions of cast members before the cake cutting, hers was the only one missing a lengthy buildup. Intentional? Who knows? In any case, Charisma says she doesn't plan on coming back.
"I'm ready [to move on]," Charisma told me. "It's so nice to have a change. I've been over on Miss Match and I've done an ABC Family movie and I think I'm ready for the next step, and it's not a bad thing. I leave here in a good place and I know the door is open--or has been open--or it's open today. And it's a good experience going back, it means a lot to be able to do that. But I don't think there's anything left to say, or do, for [Cordelia]. I don't know how Joss' mind works. I never say never to anything, but I'm fairly sure this is it. There's nothing in the works now, just know that. Cordelia leaves. But then, we lopped off Lilah's head and she came back, so who the hell knows anymore?"
When asked if Cordelia might return, Joss simply said, "She might."
On the flip side, James Marsters is adamant that he isn't going anywhere. "Hell yeah!" he spouted when asked if he has more seasons of Spike in him. "I say we do another 100 episodes and do The Spike Show."
And turn into a human? "No, no, no, no," James says. "Spike is a cool character. I can play a human when I'm done with Spike. This is the actor talking, not Spike, but I think he'd realize he made a mistake."
Meanwhile, Andy Hallett--who I am convinced is the funniest mother-effer alive, green or otherwise--was celebrating his own achievement that day. "I just got cast to do a cartoon voice in a movie, Geppetto's Secret. I'm a cricket. The guys were teasing me, not because it's a cartoon, but because I'm green again. Green!"
"What's next, the Hulk?" I asked.
"Actually," Andy said excitedly, "I have to tell you, I love Lou Ferrigno. He and I were at a bar about a year ago, and I was bitching about the makeup. He doesn't drink, and I'm sure he thought I was insane. We were talking about how many times we've been painted green. The only two green guys and we're in a bar. What are the chances?"

The interview was conducted after TCToNC was filmed, and the article is aimed at a UK audience who haven't seen any new episodes yet. Also, there are some of my own comments right at the end, but I hope it's clear that's what they are.
Interview by, and all credit to, Bryan Cairns.
Ў®Jeffrey Bell may have initially been cozying up with aliens on Ў®The X-FilesЎЇ, but when Mutant Enemy caught his attention, he traded in those conspiracy theories and extraterrestrials for the supernatural anguish on AtS. Ў°I like what ME was doing, came over and met with Tim Minear, Joss Whedon and David Greenwalt,Ў± recalls the executive producer/writer. Ў°It was a big love-fest. When I came in, they wanted a Cordelia-centric episode. Most stories are broken in the room with a bunch of hopefully smart people throwing out ideas. At the time, I would pitch to Greenwalt and weЎЇd then pitch to Joss. The writer then goes off, does a pretty detailed outline, and gets notes on that. There are elements in my first one Ў®That Vision ThingЎЇ, that are mine ЁC like powerful demon Skip ЁC and then other things that come out of the room like JossЎЇs need to serve the bigger story. We wanted W&H to do something bad.Ў±
After all, that is what W&H does best. Or is it? In season 4ЎЇs finale Ў®HomeЎЇ, they unexpectedly handed over the keys to their LA office to Angel, giving the Fang Gang some serious evil-kicking resources. The move almost screams Ў®set-upЎЇ, but with this new direction, Bell compares seasons 4& 5 to Ў°Night and day, and I donЎЇt mean good and bad because I really loved last yearЎЇs story. But it was a 22 episode story. If you were inside the arc, it was as emotionally satisfying as anything, but if you were on the outside, it was fairly perplexing. This year, weЎЇre really trying to tell standalone stories. Because weЎЇre in this new space and Angel can be in sunlight because of necro-tinted glass, the show is a little brighter. ThereЎЇs no more gloomy hotel. We have people coming to us with problems along with our own inside W&H. Our second episode Ў®Just RewardsЎЇ was about introducing Spike to the AtS world but it was also about Ў®We work for an evil company with an evil client and he doesnЎЇt want to go.
Poor communication and low revenue could be the least of their problems. Lately, Angel has duked it out with such heavy-hitters as the Beast, a possessed Cordelia and Jasmine. And letЎЇs not forget the impending end of the world prevented partially by allies Faith and Willow. So with no epic battles scheduled, does that mean no more Big Bads? Ў°Well, thatЎЇs a complicated question,Ў± muses Bell. Ў°WeЎЇre trying to construct a mythology that will allow us to pick it up and set it down through most of the season, asking the question, Ў°Why are we really in W&H? What do they want? There will be certain episodes that focus very strongly on that but itЎЇs not like thereЎЇs an apocalypse. The problem with hosting an apocalypse like last year is everything else seems very trivial. It was a problem Ў®X-FilesЎЇ ran into the last couple of years. If thereЎЇs an alien invasion, I donЎЇt really care about a dog monster in Georgia. With W&H, we can ask questions, go to standalone episodes, and you wonЎЇt feel cheated. ThatЎЇs the hope. There will be a couple of characters that will appear and youЎЇll think, Ў®Is this the Big Bad or not?
Two of those suspects should be familiar faces to longtime fans, while AngelЎЇs new liaison, Eve, could easily be the devil in disguise. Ў°WeЎЇre building a whole episode around the returning Harmony,Ў± reveals Bell. Ў°Episode nine is all about Harmony. ItЎЇs a day in her lifeЎ-itЎЇs not easy being a young, single, undead person. And people are asking, Ў®What is Eve?ЎЇ Whether sheЎЇs good or bad is something weЎЇll play out.Ў±
Then thereЎЇs Spike, who literally bit the dust in BtVSЎЇs swan song episode Ў®ChosenЎЇ, sacrificing himself to defeat the First. Obviously, his spectral return means someone is pulling WilliamЎЇs strings. Ў°We will do our best to answer everything in bits and pieces,Ў± hints Bell. Ў°Right now Spike is a ghost, but heЎЇs not a normal ghost. What the hell is he and why is he here? Ultimately, youЎЇll learn not the big why but how and through what machinations it happened. I think he and Angel are a lot of fun. They have really different energy and viewers always say, Ў®Treat Spike with respect! We as writers do, but if all the characters did, youЎЇd be bored so fast. What makes Spike unique is he has this outside persona; heЎЇs the big bad who doesnЎЇt fit in. Otherwise, heЎЇs just Angel. WhatЎЇs great is people are so passionate about the characters that they yell and scream.Ў±
Some of the uproar is typically caused by the relationships. After all, who belongs with Buffy more ЁC Angel or Spike? The show has always been about interpersonal dynamics and just because things went kaput between Fred and Gunn or Angel and Cordelia, it doesnЎЇt mean CupidЎЇs job is done. Ў°YouЎЇll get some soap,Ў± teases Bell. Ў°Wes still pines for Fred and two of our characters have sex in episode 5, although I donЎЇt know if youЎЇd call it romantic. WeЎЇve not forgotten that aspect of the show so weЎЇre trying to earn it without playing the same beats. And trying to find the right romantic interest for Angel is tricky.Ў±
In Ў®UnleashedЎЇ, Angel saved werewolf Nina from becoming a fine dining entrЁ¦e, and considering their common nocturnal habits, they do seem like a natural couple. Ў°Nina is not becoming a regular, but there was good chemistry so weЎЇve talked about bringing her back,Ў± states Bell. Ў°There are no master plans for Angel and werewolf girl but weЎЇre always open to the possibility.Ў±
Bell promises upcoming episodes will thrust each cast member into the spotlight. In Ў®LineageЎЇ, WesЎЇs father visits to evaluate his sonЎЇs work for a new WatchersЎЇ Council, and in Ў®Life of the PartyЎЇ, Lorne discovers the downfall of being the host of the companyЎЇs super-sized Halloween extravaganza. Ў°And what goes wrong with that?Ў± laughs Bell. Ў°Lord, everything. ItЎЇs a romp. ItЎЇs a Spike youЎЇve never seen. YouЎЇve got characters having sex that you would never imagine and thereЎЇs abominable behaviour in very funny ways.Ў± Yet the most anticipated episode, a rumoured guest appearance by Buffy, is not even a done deal. Ў°WeЎЇre trying, and we hope but thereЎЇs nothing in cement or even tapioca,Ў± confirms Bell. Ў°We know what we would do but itЎЇs really about SMGЎЇs availability. How she would handle Angel and Spike is where the sparks are. In terms of what would bring her to town, all IЎЇll say is at the end of BtVS, there were about 8,000 potential Slayers let loose upon the world. So sheЎЇs been travelling a lot, training, teaching, and checking in on them. It would be a very Slayer-related episode but itЎЇs really about Buffy, Angel and Spike coming together and working things out.Ў±
Bell also guarantees a resolution to CordyЎЇs fate. As for Connor, nothing is written in stone, but Bell acknowledges the little scrapper was a tough character for viewers to sympathise with. Ў°To me, VK came in as Connor and had a thankless task of being the Mordred son,Ў±he says. Ў°As writers, we didnЎЇt give him a single break. Everything went against him and we thought he was an irredeemable character, especially after he kept doing horrible things. So we saved him. Emotionally, what would be most important to Angel is to give his son a childhood and happiness. To make a deal with the devil, W&H, to do that was a really powerful thing.Ў±
Although Bell obviously appreciates certain moments from the show, he doesnЎЇt have an overall favourite episode. Ў°I loved powerful demon Skip in my first story, Ў®That Vision ThingЎЇ. I really liked Ў®ForgivingЎЇ where Angel tries to smother Wesley with a pillow. It was very emotionally satisfying. And I liked Ў®The Magic BulletЎЇ which I directed, because I worked with Gina Torres who played Jasmine and it was a Fred-heavy story.Ў±
ME has a way of nurturing newbie directors, and Ў®The Magic BulletЎЇ was BellЎЇs trial by fire. In retrospect, the experience couldnЎЇt have been all that fetal position-inducing, could it? Ў°WhatЎЇs the word?Ў±he reflects.Ў±Terrifying. We have a wonderful cast and crew who are very supportive. By and large, it was a blast. I even got to set a guy on fire. And I just did another one which was my lifelong dream, to tell a story about Mexican wrestlers.Ў±
That episode, TCToNC, finds Angel seeking the help of a legendary Mexican wrestler currently employed by W&HЎЇs mail room. Together, they join forces to take down a vicious Aztec warrior named Tezcatcatl. Ў°When I came to ME where youЎЇre supposed to pitch emotionally-based stories, I pitched Ў®Ahh..I think it would be cool to do Mexican wrestling!ЎЇ explains Bell. Ў°Evidently, Joss has always had a soft spot for it as well. I tried to do it at Ў®X-FilesЎЇ, so itЎЇs 6 years in the making. ItЎЇs going to be very colourful.Ў±
In the grand scheme of things, itЎЇs business as usual for Angel and gang, but with a twist. And while fans are blood thirsty for another season, itЎЇs too early to make predictions. But if the hourglass happens to run out, how does Bell see the 250 year old vampireЎЇs final days? Ў°It will be like at the end of Ў®The Wild Bunch,ЎЇЎ± offers Bell. Ў°Joss knows it will go out, but it will be cool, emotional, bittersweet and heroic. Yeah, heroic is the word I would use.Ў±
§Ў §п§д§а §Ц§Ц §Ь§а§Ю§Ю§Ц§Я§д§С§в§Ъ§Ъ:
I managed to refrain from making comments all through the article like I usually do, but canЎЇt help making a few now, before I post. Firstly, Spike did not Ў®literally bite the dustЎЇ. DoesnЎЇt anyone know what Ў®literallyЎЇ means any more? Also, anyone want to bet that someone somewhere who reads this will interpret BellЎЇs description of Spike as Ў®the big bad who doesnЎЇt fit inЎЇ as evidence that Spike is this seasonЎЇs Big Bad and will go evil at the end? And it astonishes me that Bell thinks DB had chemistry with werewolf girl, although I hope what he says about finding a love interest for Angel will make a few feathers fly somewhere. It also looks very much as if ep11 is what weЎЇre getting instead of a visit from Buffy, since itЎЇs a Slayer-related story. And I donЎЇt see why we canЎЇt learn the Ў®whyЎЇ as well as the Ў®howЎЇ of SpikeЎЇs return, but I donЎЇt like the way Bell describes it as Ў®machinationsЎЇ. Poor Spike! HeЎЇs being used all the time, I suspect.
Oh, and it looks like people hoping for a happy ending are wasting their time. We know what Joss means by a Ў®happy endingЎЇ. We saw it in Ў®ChosenЎЇ. So I donЎЇt see how Ў®bittersweetЎЇ could be better than that.
3. Интересная формулировка - What is Eve? Не who, а what.
4. Не совсем поняла формулировку о возвращении Спайка - как они намереваются объяснить not the big why but how and through what machinations it happened. Что значит the big why? А что касается how and through what machinations - это нам уже начали объяснять.
What makes Spike unique is he has this outside persona; hes the big bad who doesnt fit in. Otherwise, hes just Angel.
8.It will be like at the end of The Wild Bunch,
DVD Interview EXCLUSIVE: FIREFLY`s Master and Commander Speaks -- Part Two Our interview with FIREFLY creator Joss Whedon continues
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dateline: Friday, December 12, 2003
By: PATRICK SAURIOL By: News Editor
Picking up from where the first part of our exclusive interview with FIREFLY creator Joss Whedon ended, in part two we'll get to find out what were the joys and problems making FIREFLY, what it was like casting the series, what Whedon's favorite episode was, his thoughts on singing the show's theme song and why he absolutely cannot say a word about the FIREFLY movie.
WHEDON: Im very happy. The first time they put one in my hands it was like Christmas because its so important for me for people to see it. I think that they did a really good and respectful job of putting it together. The episodes look great, theyre widescreen, the way they were meant to be broadcast, the extras are cool, they did a little documentary and a bunch of interviews with everybody. I think that it was really beautifully made, kind of lovely.
Q: Now on one of the bonus features you actually sing the theme song
WHEDON: Good lord.
Q: I gotta ask.
WHEDON: What happened was, I gave a demo the same way that I did with the BUFFY musical just so that they would have the basic lyric, tune and chords. But it was supposed to be sung by an old black man. I mean, its supposed to be a blues song, its supposed to have somebody with that voice, that kind of voice that you may be noticing right now that I dont have!
Q: What's the latest with the FIREFLY movie? I know its not at Fox
WHEDON: I really cant unfortunately say anything about it.
Q: Cant say anything about it?
WHEDON: Not really because talking about it would make it less likely.
Q: OK, thats fine. Lets talk about what was your favorite episode out of the thirteen?
WHEDON: Im tempted to say "Objects in Space" because I think its some of my best work but actually, probably, "Out of Gas". Tim [Minear] wrote it and David Solomon directed it. I think nothing shows the mundane and yet completely life threatening existence they have, nothing shows how they cohere as a crew better than that. I think that it has the biggest heart of any episode that we did. I just adore it.
Q: Looking back what would you say was the biggest difficulty or problem you had making FIREFLY? Was it a specific moment or a scene ?
WHEDON: When I saw the first cut I was like, OK! Um, lets talk. Thats inevitable. Some of them just come together like magic and some of them appear like they came together like magic but magic means six days of second unit.
Q: Did you have any of the actors in mind when you envisioned the characters?
WHEDON: No, I had written the outline I think before I ever started talking to people. I think that the only one that I met before I wrote the script was Nathan [Fillion]. I had met him but, Im not even sure I may have been finishing the script and they had just gotten the beat sheet. But no, I really wrote them just as characters and then it was extraordinary to watch people come in and it was like, Oh! There they are. I know you! Ive written you!
Q: Was it difficult casting and trying to find the right people?
I found out Gina [Torres] was auditioning 40 minutes before the audition. Wed seen her and shed dropped out, she had a conflict with MATRIX RELOADED or something, and then all of a sudden I was thinking of somebody else completely [different], and then she came in, auditioned and we were like Oh, well, there you go! That parts fine.
Q: Time for the final question: whats in your DVD player right now?
WHEDON: Whats in my DVD player right now? PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN because we fell asleep during it.
I tried to watch the commentary for SOLARIS but Cameron kept talking over Soderberg and I didnt agree with what he was saying so I stopped watching that. He was describing a shot and Im like, Thats not the point of the shot at all! I disagree! Include me in on this commentary! I dont listen to commentary much but I will probably listen to Nathan and Alan on "War Stories" because those guys really make me laugh. Also, GANGS OF NEW YORK. I need to know more about how that happened. Bill the Butcher is my secret boyfriend.
Новости: The Hollywood Reporter сообщает, что СМГ с января будет сниматься в фильме " The Grudge" - американизированном римейке японского ужастика Ju-on.
"Sarah Michelle Gellar won't be back as Buffy this season after all. The erstwhile Slayer ? who was in talks to do a two-episode arc on Buffy spinoff Angel during May sweeps ? has opted against picking up stakes again. Says Joss Whedon, creator of both series: "She feels it's not the right time." Gellar's rep declined to comment".
Watch With Kristin - Chat Transcript Monday, December 15, 2003
johnnie asks: Is Charisma Carpenter going to join the cast of "Miss Match"?
Kristin replies: Haven't head that, but I have heard that the show just picked up four more episodes, HOWEVAH, the network bigwigs are considering moving it to another night (makes sense - it's on TONIGHT at 10pm), and might possibly pull it off and bring it back in a better timeslot next fall. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
rose372 asks: Got any dirt on Tru Calling?
Kristin replies: Please remember to watch this week - No Friends, No Survivor, and nothing better to do, I'm just sure of it!! I also hear that Tru (Eliza Dushku) is getting a new love interest -- Matthew Bomer. He's the smoking hot guy who was in the mix for 'Superman' at some point, when Ratner was still attached to direct. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
toliver63 asks: SPOILERS. START WITH ANGEL!
Kristin replies: A very creepy episode is coming up - either 14 or 15, methinks - in which a little boy will get the life sucked out of him (literally) through his TV screen by cutesy little children's program puppets. NOT an episode for someone who, like me, thinks clowns are the spawn of Satan. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hacker2093 asks: TVGuide is reporting SMG won't be doing Angel at all this year. Is there a support group?
Kristin replies: Just remember, there is more to life than Buffy reuniting with Spike or Angel - I'm not sure what, but damnit, I'll find it! And for the record, I had similar scoopage in this week's column. Joss made it very clear "It's up to her". Kristin: SO there!
Kristin replies: A bit more from the set visit and the deliciousness that is Christian Kane (Lindsay). He said shooting a big stunt fight scene that day - they were taping the 100th ep, as you know, which will be his second ep. And it 'sounded' like that scene might be a fight with Spike. When I asked Christian what it was like working with James Marsters, he answered:
"It's great. We feed off each other - no pun intended. I don't have to carry the ball with David or James, they are both such strong actors". "There will be more action between me and Spike but I don't want to get in trouble. When Joss called and asked if I wanted to come back I said yes, but I am going to get beat up by every single girl!? That's bullshit. He said no, it's a different character. I would have done it anyway - it's been a lot of fun. I'll stay around as long as Joss will let me. But it's great because now I get to do all my own stunts. I love it, it's my favorite part. I've got stitches".
adyess asks: What's coming up next for our hero on 24?
Kristin replies: LOTS of good femme fatales in the coming weeks: Gina Torres (from Alias, Angel and Firefly, and also the Matrix) has signed on to play the wife a major donor to President Palmer's political campaign.
Kristin replies: Christian also mentioned he knew Eve (the actress who plays her, forgive me, I'm blanking) before this stint. "I'm with Eve now which is great because I've known her for years so there was no awkwardness. We've never dated but she's a really good actress. She's so dainty and soft spoken and she plays that very well - she's sinister and has puppy dog eyes. One of the reasons I came back was to work with her." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
vartanning asks: Why would we PO5 fans love 'Still Life'? I haven't heard of it.
Kristin replies: It's got the same feel - a family carrying on after a death (though this time it's a brother, who narrates the show a la The Lovely Bones). Marti Noxon (Buffy) is Executive Producer, and the cast is lovely (as in smoking hot.... Jenson Ackles, anyone?) and talented. And like PO5, it will make you cry, swear to never watch the show again because it's so emotionally draining, but find yourself unable to stop.
Something Blue, Crush, Intervention!
There's no Buffy, Kendra, or Faith here - there's only the complicated beings they're in the business of destroying, beings who have just as much vested interest in staying alive as the Slayers and Watchers have in making sure they're dusted. In "The Problem With Vampires," we get to see how an unnamed Drusilla's love for an unnamed Spike keeps her sane as a human tortures her, and how Spike's love for her makes him search for her regardless of the risk.
One of the greatest strengths of TALES OF THE VAMPIRES is that it doesn't require a degree in Buffy-omics to fully appreciate the emotional impact of these stories. It helps no end for the reader to be familiar with Spike and Drusilla's on-screen personas, of course, but Drew Goddard has crafted the sort of piece that anyone can sink his teeth into (no pun intended). Instead of feeling regretful that Drusilla's human torturer doesn't succeed in putting down a dangerous killer, we feel jubilant that Spike makes it in sufficient time to his true love's...er, life.
As reported in the current issue of TV Guide magazine, Sarah Michelle Gellar will not be back as Buffy this season, after all. The former star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in talks to do a two-episode arc on Buffy spinoff Angel. However, says Joss Whedon, creator of both supernatural series: "She feels it's not the right time." Asked about Gellar's decision to bail, Angel vamp David Boreanaz bares his fangs...
"I honestly don't know what happened," he grumpily tells TV Guide Online. "Why don't you ask her about it? I'm sure she'll come up with a good answer."
After simmering down good thing his face doesn't contort monstrously, like it does on TV! the actor looks to the future. Should Angel's fifth season turn out to be its last, Boreanaz hopes Gellar will at least do the final episode, if only to help him bite the dust in style. "If Sarah wants to come back for a final farewell like I did for her on her series finale that would be fantastic," he says. "Now, that's something for her to decide. That would be great, to have her. I think it would be great for the fans to see that.
"I think it's a responsibility to do those [farewell] shows and give the appreciation for the fans that are watching this," Boreanaz adds. "Those are the people that tune in and have made us who were are today. It's not like you do 50 or 100 episodes of a show and say, 'Screw you.' You have a responsibility to your fans, and that's important. You give as much as you can responsibly, as long as you're having fun with it."
Are you listening, Ms. Gellar? Buffy's fans are staking their hopes on it.
