"And Good News for Angel Fans! Amy said Joss Whedon has spoken with her about resurrecting her role as Illyria. "He has mentioned it a couple of times," she told me. "I mean, the last time, I talked to him a couple weeks ago and said that I had heard that Tim Minear was gonna write and direct the Spike movie, the Spike-Illyria movie, so he said that they want to do that still. I think he's just overwhelmed a bit right now with the press for Serenity and everything!" She said she and Joss have stayed close, and he gave "the best gift ever" to her eight-month-old bundle of joy, Jack: "He had a woman come in and teach him how to sleep through the night." A. That's the hope. I haven't put anything together yet; I'm just trying to line people up.
Q. I think Buffyverse fans are waiting with baited breath to find out exactly how that battle in "Angel"'s finale went. Will the TV movie tell us?
A. Uh, if there's -- I believe yes. You will finally find out what happened -- who lived, who died, who lost one arm or two legs, who was supposed to be the Chosen One but went over to the Dark Side. All that stuff.
Непонятно, то ли он прикалывается, потому что его достали сравнениями "Серенити" и "Звездных войн", то ли в его словах есть какие-то намеки на реальный сюжет будущего фильма. Про руку он говорил и год назад, когда никто его "Звездными войнами" не терроризировал...
ДМ, сказал ,что будет сниматься в фильме только если Спайк бдт главным героем. Причем отдельно отметил, что не хочет видеть Иллирию рядом.В общем то понять его можно, как не верти , а Спайка -то народ любит гораздо больше и *сыграть диву* ДМ ничего не стоит, тем более для его карьеры главная роль была бы очень кстати ссыль не помню, вроде бы баффи.ну
Насколько я знаю, источник - эксклюзивное интервью в свежем SFX, а там все звучит немного иначе. Вот что там говорится дословно
Besides Smallville, there's also the possibility of Marsters starring in a Spike TV Movie next year, though he has specific thoughts about that.
"I would like him to go through a journey where he starts in one place psychologically and ends up in another, allowing him to go through some kind of change," Marsters explained. "I would like him to be the lead. I heard from some people that they were thinking of doing a Spike/Illyria piece and I need to talk to them and say, 'I'm really interested in doing the character as a lead, but I've done him as a sidekick.' If they write an Illyria piece with Spike tagged on, I probably won't do it.
I love Amy Acker and would love to shoot with her, but there's nothing for me to prove by doing it with her," he continued. "It has to do with theme. What is the theme? Who is the character the audience is supposed to identify with? The trick of a story is that you bring the audience on a vicarious journey and you make the central character someone they want to be, so they see themselves through the eyes of that character. Illyria could be all through it. They could be talking to each other in every scene, but thematically it's got to be Spike's story. That's brutally honest, but it's the way I feel."

Ausiello: How 'bout all of the above, and then some? I just hung up with Sir Joss Whedon, and the chatty Cathy dished on all of your favorite things in the galaxy, from the Buffyverse to Veronica Mars (his new obsession) and back. Ready for takeoff? Read on for some highlights from our Q&A session (that's quips and anecdotes for you newbies).
Serenity is opening in two days. How does it feel? It feels good. I like the movie. It's a good time.
Did Universal tell you how much this one needs to gross for there to be a sequel? More than it cost. I don't think [we'll know] right away whether or not there'll be a second one because, obviously, DVD is the new box office. And I also think of this as a slow-growth movie. It's not about shock and awe first weekend; it's about word of mouth. It's about whether the film has legs.
How'd your Veronica Mars cameo go? Well, I don't want to say [I'm] the new Brando, but I do want to say I'm the new Franklin Pangborn…. It was nice, because I had it with Kristen Bell, who's really good and helped me get through my inability to act on film. Apart from that, it was somewhat unremarkable to anybody who wasn't me.
Did you ever think your endorsement of a TV show would carry as much weight as your rave review of Mars did? I really didn't. I just got on the Internet because I was feelin' it. I was just feelin' it. I loved that show. I was like, "I gotta get on the Internet and tell peeps about this." [Executive producer] Joel Silver called me and said, "Why didn't you tell us you were going to do that?!" I said, "Here's the point: I didn't know I was going to do that." After the last six episodes [from Season 1], which we watched in a day, I was just on fire. I haven't been a fanboy like that since the days of old.
Any chance you might write or direct an episode? To direct would be fun, if I had time. To write, quite frankly, I'd be intimidated. Their stuff is tight. I would be nervous as hell, and it would take me a really long time. I would love to do one, but I don't have time and [Rob Thomas] doesn't need me so, ultimately, I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
You spoke to Tim Minear about writing and directing the Spike movie. Where do things stand? Things stand that all of the art guys — the people who would be involved artistically — have been trading phone calls going, "Wouldn't this be cool? Wouldn't this be cool?" We don't have a paradigm set up yet. We don't have anything solid to announce. I'm just making sure that the creative people I need are in place before I set up a whole deal and then James Marsters goes, "Gosh, you know? That's kind of behind me now." Or [if] I don't have a writer I can trust, because I don't have time to do it all myself; I need one of my peeps. And there's no greater peep for something like this than Mr. [Tim] Minear. I'm optimistic that I will actually have something to say in the near future, but at this point it's still me and my buddies going, "Wouldn't it be cool?"
Have you spoken to David Janollari at WB yet? I'm not going to go into the deal-making stuff at all.
Can you tell us if you've spoken to anyone aside from James about appearing in the movie? Yes, I have.
Amy Acker? Yes, I have. Well, you know, I see Amy a lot, I see Allyson [Hannigan] a lot and Alexis [Denisof]. I've spoken to a couple of people just because we're making conversation, and they don't hate the idea. The worst thing that could happen is that somebody would be too busy because, as we know, all of my alumni are taking over the world.
Do you see Allyson/Willow being a part of it? You know, if I get a chance to use Allyson, I'll use Allyson. That's a given. There's no maybe about that. The maybe is, does she have time? And if she does have time, shouldn't she be busy doing Veronica Mars, where we need to know more about her character?
One last thing: Should I assume the Buffy animated series is dead? That's a good word for it. I think dead and possibly buried. Or even cremated.

Мдя,мультик жалко -какое -никакое , а все ж офиц. продолжение /дополнение истории... Что б не говорили потом, что я со своим инглишем интервью перевираю , копирую полностью по мне бы еще Баффи и Ангела добавили, ну Эндрю тоже можно *без Зендера я как-то не особо скучаю * , а потом все это бы СНЯЛИ и было бы СЩасстье

Joss Whedon has revealed that he would like Allyson Hannigan to reprise her Buffy role of Willow in the Spike TV movie.
Speaking to tvguide.com he explained: "You know, if I get a chance to use Allyson, I’ll use Allyson. That’s a given. There’s no maybe about that. The maybe is, does she have time?"
He also stated that he has been in touch with Alexis Denisof (Angel’s Wesley) over the matter but again nothing material has come of it. Also, he confirmed that Amy Acker (Illyria) is interested in the endeavour.
As for where the the project stands, Whedon explained that it is very much in the planning stage. "We don’t have a paradigm set up yet. We don’t have anything solid to announce," he explained. "I’m just making sure that the creative people I need are in place before I set up a whole deal and then James Marsters (Spike) goes, "Gosh, you know? That’s kind of behind me now."

Big scoop came in earlier this week. Joss Whedon's been in town recently promoting SERENITY, and got to speaking with our new (and highly anonymous) scooper. "He told me that it's 99% likely (his words) that a new series of "Buffy" and "Angel" TV movies of the week will be happening soon. Spike will be the kick-off point followed by, hopefully, one with Illyria (sp), and Willow - depending on 'everyone's schedules, naturally'.
