"The big problem with Angel is it didn't repeat well," Levin said. "It wasn't growing its audience, but it was a show we loved. We adored that show. It was a really hard decision. Joss Whedon came to me in February and said, 'If you don't think the show is going to come back, I'd rather know it now, so I can end it appropriately.' When we looked at our schedule, with Charmed, 7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls, Angel and Smallville, we realized we had a lot of veteran series. And one of the challenges of any schedule is to let your veterans retire so you can make room for the rookies, like Jack and Bobby and The Mountain. It's a balancing act, and it's not fun. That was a sad day."

Former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” scribe Steve DeKnight (he co-scripted the hilarious Italy-set “Angel” that aired two weeks ago) is headed to “Smallville,” according to kryptosite.com. He follows in the footsteps of fellow ex-“Buffy” scripter Drew Z. Greenberg, who migrated to “Smallville” one year ago.
For those keeping track, here’s where this season’s “Angel” writers have landed so far:
* Drew Goddard (DeKnight’s co-writer on “The Girl in Question”) is headed to “Alias.”
* Jeff Bell (Joss Whedon’s co-writer on the spectacular just-aired “Angel” series finale) is also headed to “Alias.”
* Liz Craft & Sarah Fain (they scripted Hamilton’s introduction in the five-star “Underneath”) have been asked to join “The Shield” (created by fellow “Angel” vet Shawn Ryan).
* Buffiverse mastermind Joss Whedon, who wrote more “Angel” teleplays this season than ever before, will nex season for the first time in eight years have nothing to do with televised entertainment. He is days away from make his feature directorial debut with Universal’s big-screen “Firefly” movie.
* No definitive word yet on David Fury (“You’re Welcome,” “Power Play”) or "Tick" mastermind Ben Edlund (“Life of the Party,” “Smile Time,” “Time Bomb”), but one hears Edlund is being hotly pursued by one of the most promising new series of the coming season.

For this just-concluding season Jane Espenson was at “The “Gilmore Girls”; Tim Minear at “Wonderfalls,” David Greenwalt at “Jake 2.0,” Rebecca Rand Kirschner at “Las Vegas,” Marti Noxon at (the still unaired Fox drama) “Still Life,” Doug Petrie at “Tru Calling,” and Mere Smith at “Tarzan.”

"I ran across Sarah Michelle Gellar at a coffee shop," reports fan. "She was dressed casually and buying some sort of coffee freezer. A group of fans had already surrounded her, maybe 3 or 4 young teenage girls. I came up to her, very excited because I have been a fan of hers for 5 years, and asked her for a hug, she was very kind and said yes. One of the girls that had first stopped her was asked her if she was happy with the way Buffy ended. Sarah said it wasnt perfect but she was satisfied with where her character ended. Another girl said something like "but poor Spike" and Sarah laughed saying "James is still working" she was reffering to his work on ANGEL." The fan reports that Sarah’s cell phone rang a short time later. Sarah excused herself to answer the phone, "Sarah walked back a few feet for privacy. I felt like that was the time to leave, in order to give her some space but the girls remained and I felt inclined to do the same."
The fan reports that she overheard Sarah Michelle Gellar talking to her husband (for those of you who dont know, Sarah is married to actor Freddie Prinze Jr.). The fan stated that Mrs. Gellar-Prinze seemed to get upset very quickly with her husband. "She told him that he was late and that she didnt want to hear his excuses. I couldnt hear the entire conversation because she was a few feet away and her voice was soft but it was obvious she was in a fight with Freddie. She took maybe five minutes on the phone and then came back and excused herself. Her cheeks were flushed and she looked really upset, almost on the verge of tears. She signed a girl’s notebook and then said she had to go call a taxi. I thought it was weird that she was alone, I’ve seen hera few times from a distance and she is always accompanied by a guard. On tv I see her with Freddie but never alone, I’m guessing that was what the fight was about. Freddie forgot to pick Sarah up. Poor Sarah."

Обидно, если в самом начале мне пара Сара/Фреди не то, что бы нравилась, но была "сносна" * если так вообще сказать можно*, то сейчас я всё больше и больше убеждаюсь в том, что они не пара совсем. Просто так из-за того, что муж забыл заехать, человек не будет слёзы лить, значит до этого было что-то ещё... уф, надеюсь там всё уладится.
А насчёт ДБ... хех, кажется именно этого он и хочет, просто гулять с сыном в парке, а не изображатьс упер-героя с сомнительной репутацией.

Angel is no more. The brooding vampire with a soul - the longest “living” character in Joss Whedon’s Buffy-verse - will fight his final fight on Wednesday when The WB does what no slayer or Arachnitaur demon could do: kill him.
Disbelief and anger, both from creator Whedon and from loyal viewers, spread like wildfire on the Web when it was announced the fifth season of Angel would be the last. The outpouring of grief and protest from fans - who mounted a “Save Angel” campaign which included raising money for ads in Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, sending chocolate to network executives, holding rallies and arranging blood drive and other charitable events - did not come as a shock to the cast.
“Our fans have been so encouraging to us these past five seasons that it wasn’t a surprise; we kinda knew that they would be totally freaked out about the whole situation,” says David Boreanaz, who’s portrayed Angel for eight seasons, first on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and then on his own show. “They’ve followed us from night to night, when we’ve changed nights... They’re very supportive, and we had a feeling they would be upset.”
As for whether the massive fan support would work, Boreanaz, on the phone from L.A., says he didn’t give it much thought. “It was just great to see the fans, the support behind the show. They were so enthusiastic about trying to have an impact on that, so I didn’t think one way or the other about it. For me it was just a decision that was made and then I move on.”
Through the show(s), the character Angel has helped the helpless and sought redemption for the atrocities he bestowed upon the innocent while he was the particularly nasty vampire Angelus.
“We’ve been through so much,” Boreanaz says. “I mean the five seasons I played Angel on my show was really the pivotal part of finding the character and who he was. When I started out on Buffy, he was really just a recurring character... There’s lots of things that I’m going to hold onto; I enjoyed playing him and I’ll continue to use him. You put him to bed, but you also use his talents and his knowledge of what he learned during those eight seasons.”
One of the unusual aspects of television-as-created-by-Joss-Whedon is the interest it has attracted from academic circles. Later this month at an academic conference in Nashville, papers will be presented with titles such as Monsters and Mean Streets: Angel and the Legacy of Noir and On Escherian Dualism and the Metaphysics of the Middle Way: Interpreting the Spatial Architecture of Angel the Series.
“It reinforces that the writing is so strong and solid that we were able to work on a show and all of us were very fortunate to be involved in something that was unique... again it’s another thing to be proud of,” Boreanaz says.
James Marsters, who has portrayed the other (recently) ensouled vampire, Spike, since season two of Buffy, said recently on the Ryan Seacrest Show that he’d be there any time Whedon had something for him to do. Does Boreanaz feel the same way?
“Well, yeah, working with Joss has been great, and (producer/writer) David Greenwalt, and an opportunity to work again with them would be definitely fortuitous for all of us and it would be a great thing to do. You always have to keep that creative ball spinning and never let it get away; you let it spin freely rather than confine it, and that’s where these people are and it’s great to be a part of that.”
He quashes the fantasies of legions of fans who’ve been hoping for made-for-TV Angel movies to be appearing next season. “No. Big screen opportunity, yeah, but I would say that’s the only way.”
All that aside, both Buffy and Angel have always - in between the gruesome death, assorted beheadings and hell fires - been about the luv, and what we all really need to know is whether Angel’s true love is Buffy, Cordelia, Darla, Nina the werewolf girl or, what we’ve long and deliciously suspected, Spike.
“I think that question has really yet to be answered, so I don’t know yet.”

Не знаю кто может падать в обморок от ноков и голых задниц, но достоинства последнего можно и оценить, всегда приятно когда и партя клевый арьергард ...
Вот у Джеймса фигура, так фигура! ВСЕ на месте и думаю что с носком он смотрелся бы тоже не плохо, хотя он хорош и так, а раздевать его вредно для нервной системы, моей так точно и думаю чито не только моей! И тут не грех и сна лешиться, особенно после просмлтра фоток из раздела"фотки от которых текут слюнки". И надо отменить слюнки действительно текут!
Елена, ну зачем же стирать, наоборот!! ДБ, кстати, там очень хорошо смотрится, а пунктик - очень важная вещь, у меня, например, пунктик на спинах по жизни )
Ну, раз уж мы заговорили о пунктиках, то от фигуры ДБ (ДМ - это вообще святое ) я без ума не смотря на многочисленное ворчание по этому поводу . Обожаю мужчин и крупных, и плотных, а небольшое количество жирка вполне можно пережить. Тем более, это как-то так... по-земному?

Ага, значит, это не только мне показалось. Просто руки Дэвида - это однозначно красиво, на них можно не обращать внимания, если он не нравится, но придраться к ним нельзя, а вот к фигуре относятся не так однозначно. Я - существо всеядное, люблю и попадью, и свиной хрящик, поэтому недоумеваю, каким образом любование фигурой Джеймса делает невозможным любование фигурой Дэвида.

Kristin replies: Actually, yes. I was VERY impressed with some of the ABC, WB and UPN offerings coming out. I'll give you the lowdown in the next column, but for now I can say, keep the faith!!! Kristin replies: I milked EVERYONE at the WB for info, but sadly, it seems that nothing has been decided for the fall season. One thing you should note, however -- the Actress who plays Madison has been cast on the new Rob Lowe show. I BEGGED her to stay put, to no avail. But on the up side, the show looks wretched and she might be back in no time. Новости о новом проекте ДБ: On June 18th David starts filming his latest movie project, a romantic comedy entitled "Mr. Fix-It" which is being cast by Fiorentino/Mangieri Casting - responsible for 'Cold Case' and 'The Shield' in their first forays to episodic television.
He will take on the role of Lance Valenteen, a man who runs his own company trying to help 'fix' relationships of those who have been dumped.. Not all runs smoothly however.
David is looking forward to taking on this type of lead role and show his comedic side.
It's a tough moment to digest as the final scene of "Angel" concluded Wednesday in the series ending episode, "Not Fade Away."
Since March 1997, series co-creator Joss Whedon has consistently enticed viewers through the course of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and its eventual spinoff "Angel." Both shows enjoyed a deft blend of engaging drama and sharp humor. Credit Whedon there. And credit the Emmys for a staggering display of embarrassing indifference. No writing or best drama wins for a pair of shows that outclassed peers in so many ways. Please, don't even mention "Once More With Feeling."
"Angel," which debuted in 1999, began to immediately climb from beneath "Buffy's" shadow. Though it took time for it to find its footing, the last two seasons clearly demonstrated the show's potential. That's what makes "Not Fade Away" all the more tragic. This is a television show deserving more seasons. After The WB was elevated from life support by the success of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," you would have hoped Whedon would be granted time. Instead, The WB short changed fans and derailed a series with a bright future.
As for the final, penned by Whedon and Jeff Bell, it makes a bold showing of the show's best assets. Writing, acting, surprises, it's all here folks. Angel (David Boreanaz) shows his true measure as a stubborn, fearless vampire who surges into battle against the unbeatable. It's an ongoing theme in the show, and we see with heart-wrenching clarity that those who stand with him are compelled to do the same. Think of the final of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and you have a fair idea of the stakes and the loss. The one surprise I will reveal here is the episode is not directed by Whedon. Perhaps "Serenity" duties required his full attention.
One recent development deserving special mentioning is the transformation of Amy Acker's character Fred to the ancient, outdated god, Illyria. This character shines, and is an amazing credit to Acker. Wow. I want more of Illyria. She is a fascinating, complex and powerful force that is truly captivating to behold. If we only had time to make a better acquaintance ...
And nods are certainly in order for Spike (James Marsters) and Wesley (Alexis Denisof), whose contributions evolved into some of the show's best moments. How can we ever forget Wesley's massive character arc (starting in Season 3 of Buffy), transforming him from a sniveling goof to a hardened man of action, toting .45s and a pump-action shotgun!
So what lurks on the Buffyverse horizon? Good question, but it seems obvious that a spinoff show or movie will come. Comics and an animated series, too. A big budget feature combining both shows would be ultra cool. As for television, how about a spinoff based on Whedon's Buffyverse graphic novel, "Fray." Now that would be dreamy and probably overly ambitious.
Oh, and Whedon, don't forget Illyria!

Вот со мной танцами занимается парень занимается у него руки присто закачаешься, но кроме них у него ничего нет, ну т.е. плоский торс, отсетствие преса ну он есть, но его не видно, он воодще в профиль может за троснинку спрятаться. вобщем не впечатляет, но рукипрямо загляденье!
