Девочки, спасибо за новости!
Мой улов (уворован с BAPS)
Во-первых, пересказ интервью с AD/ Оказывается, мы-таки были правы, в 6 сезоне Ведон хотел иметь "двух в одной" - Фред и Иллирию...

Subject: Snippets from AD interview in Dreamwatch, including a small rant (sorry!)
Had a quick look through an Alexis Denisof interview in Dreamwatch
(still no sign of the next TVZone, with the second half of that JM
interview) but didn't buy the magazine, as there was nothing else in
it of interest to me.
The interview confirmed a couple of things: firstly, that AD didn't
mind his reduced physical role, which happened because of Spike's
arrival. He says that it only made sense that Spike and Angel `would
do the dirty work', and anyway, he was quite happy with Wesley's
emotion-heavy arc. It's true, I didn't feel that Wesley was wasted in
any of the episodes (except WWF, where everyone except Angel was
wasted), whereas I felt Spike was wasted in quite a few.
AD also said that, if they'd got season 6, it would've seen Wesley
getting more and more involved with Illyria, and that there might
have been a possibility of Fred coming back and then he'd have had to
choose between them. So, firstly, if there'd been season 6, Wesley
wouldn't have died and there was no intention of writing AD out of
the show, and secondly, it looks as if Joss envisaged the emotion-
heavy stuff still falling on AD's shoulders. Sure, I know that AD
would have made a wonderful job of it, but still I feel a little
resentful for Spike's sake, because it simply confirms to me yet
again that Joss had no real interest in Spike (or indeed Angel,
except in so far as he was the titular character) and never really
saw him as more than colour off to the side comic relief. No wonder
he was so keen on the ghost idea!
So, those people shipping Spike/Illyria would have ended up just as
disappointed as those shipping Spike/Fred. In fact, I think it's
highly unlikely that Spike would ever have been allowed a
relationship on the show, since the Harmony thing was such a bust
with the fans. I'm pretty sure that was what ME had planned (remember
JM saying the writers were cooking him up a love interest?). If the
fans hadn't made it plain how much they loathed the idea, I think
we'd have had the occasional Spike/Harmony comedy bonk all through
the season, and that would have been it.
I know that JM said at Moonlight Rising he didn't mind Spike being
used as comedic foil, and I still enjoyed a lot of the season, but I
am still annoyed for the character's sake that Joss dismissed him so
cavalierly as having no real dramatic place on the show in his own
right.
